Zieren Furniture began in 1912 with Ben Zieren and his partner Gus Hallermann selling furniture, rugs, wood stoves and caskets for funerals. In 1938, Ben’s son Paul took over the store. In addition to furniture, items for sale have included appliances, radios, televisions, and vacuums. In the late 1940’s Zieren moved the funeral portion of the business to another location. Paul’s son John later continued his father’s tradition in the funeral business and Zieren-Day Funeral Home is currently located at 11th and Clinton Streets in Carlyle.

Paul’s focus on good customer service has played a vital role in the success of Zieren Furniture. Paul’s goal of providing the best selection for family and budget remains the mission of Zieren Furniture today!
